Billi Announces Leadership Changes in New Zealand

Billi announces changes to its New Zealand leadership team.

David Merrick has resigned from his position as Director of Commercial Operations to join a new family business venture. David has been with Billi and its former exclusive New Zealand distributor, Merquip, for more than 25 years, playing a key role in the growth and success of the business. His last day with Billi was  17 October 2025.

“Working with Billi has been an incredible journey,” said David Merrick. “I’m proud of what we’ve achieved in New Zealand, but the real credit must go to the team here who have made Billi what it is today. I wish my colleagues all the best as I look forward to my next venture.”

Walter Perera has been promoted to General Manager, New Zealand, effective 20 October 2025. Walter has been with Billi for just under two years as Financial Planning Analyst Manager, overseeing all functional departments. A CPA and MBA graduate, Walter brings a consultative and strategic approach to the role and will continue Billi New Zealand’s transformation to ensure the business remains ‘fit for the future’.

“I’m excited to lead Billi New Zealand and build on the strong foundation David has established,” said Walter Perera. “I look forward to working with the team to continue delivering exceptional support and value to our customers.”

Nick Morris has been promoted to Director of After Sales Operations, Asia Pacific. In this expanded role, Nick will support customers and teams across Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia. This move will strengthen After Sales support across the Trans-Tasman region and is an exciting step forward for Billi.

Billi thanks David Merrick for his long-standing contribution and congratulates Walter Perera and Nick Morris on their well-deserved promotions.
